  • Baseball Bat
    • See the link at bottom of the page for more information on bat sizing recommendations
    • Tball, Rookie Ball and Machine Pitch (up to 2nd grade)
      • At this level of baseball, there are no stated standards other than ensuring the player has a proper size bat (generally 24 to 28 inches)
      • Consider used bats, especially for these younger players
    • 9U - 12U (3rd thru 6th grade)
      • Bat Restrictions for 9U-12U year old teams: Bats must: 1) have the 1.15 BPF/USSSA approved stamp; or 2) have a BBCOR stamp; or 3) be a wooden bat; or 4) have the new USA stamp
      • Though our MSF league does not have a drop restriction, we recommend keep the drop at 10 or less (example: 30 inches, 20 oz is a -10 differential)
    • 13U - 14U (7th and 8th grade)
      • New bat standards per MN Sport Federation (MSF) or the Crow River Leagues that we participate in.
      • Bats used by 13-14 year olds must have the USA Bat stamp, BBCOR Stamp, or be a wood bat.
      • Bats with 1.15 BPF/USSSA stamp cannot be used
      • Drop Restriction Recommendation - Though our league does not have a drop restriction, school baseball does.  Therefore we recommend players adhere to the following drop recommendations:
        • 7th Grade: must be -10 or less
        • 8th Grade: must be -5 or less
  • Baseball Helmet - Though a face mask or cheek guard are not required, we encourage players to consider them for added protection
  • Baseball Glove - See link below for sizing information
  • Baseball Cleats
    • Tennis shoes are fine for T-Ball and Rookie Ball
    • Cleats are encouraged starting at Machine Pitch League
    • No Metal cleats until age 13
  • Protective Cups - The earlier players start wearing them, the sooner they will get used to it.  We strongly recommend players in 8U and up to wear protective cups.
