3RD GRADE BASKETBALL:
RAAA Basketball has traditionally welcomed all boys and girls to participate in Grades 4 through 8. RAAA Basketball also offers skill advancement and an introduction to game-play for all boys and girls in 3rd Grade. We’re excited about the growth of our program, and believe this will better prepare our future players for tournament play as they continue their RAAA Basketball careers!
This year, we will be holding our annual Parent Meeting on Wednesday September 12 in the RCC meeting rooms to go over the program for this year and answer any questions you may have. For those of you interested in participating in RAAA Basketball for Grades 3-6, we will meet at 7 pm. We will go over the program for 7th and 8th Grade parents that evening at 8 pm.
Times are as follows:
5th - 6th grade 6-7:30
7th - 8th grade 7:30-9
During the registration period in September, we will be holding several open gyms with fundamental stations and scrimmaging for those in Grades 5 through 8 who want to get a jump start on the season and get some work in before tryouts. Currently, we have three (3) open gym sessions planned for the following Mondays - September 10 (RHS), 17 (RHS), and 24 (RHS) JUST ADDED Oct. 1st (RHS). Remember that if your child is planning to attend an open gym session and he/she has not yet registered, we require that their parent or guardian sign a waiver, which will have available each night. Coaches who have volunteered in the past and/or are interested in coaching this year are welcomed to assist with the open gyms, as we always need extra hands and eyes to help run the stations and scrimmages. Note: RAAA Basketball will provide balls at the open gyms, so there is no need to bring additional basketballs.
RAAA is grateful for all of the time and effort that our volunteer coaches devote to all of our programs. If you are interested in coaching basketball this year, We personally welcome you to volunteer by indicating as such on your registration form….we are always in need of volunteers to help throughout the season during practices and tournaments. Please contact me, here If you are interested in coaching but have reservations about the time commitment and/or the experience required, please feel free to contact me with any of your questions/concerns, and I would be happy to discuss.
SUMMER SHOOTING PROGRAM:
New for 2018! RAAA is introducing the Rocket Sniper School 5K/10K Shot Club.
Our challenge to the players is to see if they can reach the 5,000 Shot Club or better yet the 10,000 Shot Club this summer!
Shot charts must be turned in at the first open gym this fall.
At this time prizes are still being decided upon for players that reach these tiers.
You will find shot tracking sheets under the Sniper School tab.
